Myth: The surface appearance of parts molded from glass-filled PP is very poor.

Fact: Mold texture and careful molding techniques can provide a first-class part appearance. A combination of fast injection speeds, liberal venting, and elevated mold temperatures will dramatically improve results in any mold.

Myth: Glass-filled PP parts are very brittle and cannot be used in high abuse or low temperature applications.

Fact: Improvements in impact modification enable glass-filled materials to be produced with excellent impact properties. TPG offers glass-filled materials in at all filler levels with notched izod values of 5 ft-lb/in, about equal to an average ABS resin.
